Hard to believe, but in two weeks time most of the pups will have flown the nest. I have to be honest and say I was concerned about coping with two litters together, but these pups have just been a dream, the two litters became one a fortnight ago, something that both Mums were fine with, once again the whole of both litters comprises of friendly confident pups, one or two are a bit quieter, which balances out a couple of hoodlums that are also present, lol.
It would be a lie to say they were housetrained, but a start is being made, the pups are put to bed at around 10:30pm, we don't hear a peep from them until I go down in the morning (usually between 7 and 8:30am) , Graham gets up much earlier but even though they must hear him, they remain settled. For the last week they have been almost clean overnight with regard to poos and just a few wees. They are put out 1st thing in the morning and I feel like the pied piper leading 13 pups out of the lounge, through the hall and down the step to their outside area, where they can have their breakfast and relieve themselves.
They are in and out for the rest of the day and then spend the whole of the evening in the lounge with us. Because of the level of activity it is not practical to try and keep the webcam on during the day, it will however be on most evenings between about 8:30pm and 10:30pm.
They had their 1st experience with the clippers this week, revealing beautiful poodle heads :-) They are used to all normal household noises and activities and as we have been having some major repairs done to the house, they have also become accustomed to pneumatic drills, cement mixers and falling masonry!
Manuel has been giving them lessons in how to behave around cats, when he is in the mood they are allowed to play with him and climb over him, however, they also now know that if he looks at them in a certain way, they had better give him a wide berth, lol.
Just 2 black boys remain homeless, they are Orange collar, a beautiful compact boy, very confident and friendly, and red collar, a taller, finer boy who is always in the middle of whatever is going on. Both these boys will make wonderful pets, Orange boy is Spirits baby, Red boy is Audrey's.
Miss Tibb's kittens have turned into little puddings, as seems to be the norm for me I got the sex of one of the kittens wrong, the blue/white kitten is a little girl, she has already opened her eyes, as has her lilac brother, the little chocolate girl (fattest of the lot) doesn't seem to be in any hurry to open hers.
