2 weeks old already

Pups are little chunks, as they should be seeing as there are only 3! Spirit is exceptionally good with these babies, I think she has it sussed, good looking boyfriend (with benefits!), only produce 3 babies but still get the same privileges as you would with a proper sized litter :)

Somme opened her eyes on Saturday, Tommy and Poppy waited another 48 hrs before joining her, but all have peepers now. They have all started to toddle around the whelping box, but the biggest part of their day is still devoted to sleeping and eating.

The pups made their arrival yesterday evening. There are just 3 of them and they all arrived within 35mins of each other. We have a big strong cream girl, a strapping black lad and a tiddly black girl. Unfortunately such a small litter means that I am going to be disappointing quite a few people who have been waiting for this, I am so sorry to those affected by this. I do know of a couple of potentially really nice litters planned for very early next year so please feel free to ask if you would like to know more.

As these pups were born the day after the 100 year anniversary of the end of WW1 we are going with that as a theme, so the black girl is Poppy, the cream is Somme and the boy is Tommy.  The web cam covered their birth yesterday and will be on from about 11am to 10pm every day for the next few weeks, it can be accessed from the link on the right of this page. Here are the first few pics of Mum and pups.

Update: Pups are coming, cam is on. Spirit is in the 1st stage of labour, this could last just a couple of hours or could last up to 48hrs. The cam will be turned on once she starts pushing.

 Spirit is due to have her pups in just a few days time, she had a bath and groom after our beach trip and we are ready and waiting :)
