On Monday I let my beautiful little waterbaby leave us. Over the last couple of years she had been affected by laryngeal paralysis, but in her usual no nonsense style she didn't let it affect her enjoyment of life, in fact right to the end she was keen to go for walks and was always ahead of us with her tail wagging and enjoying every moment, but her breathing was deteriorating quite rapidly and for the last couple of nights she was struggling to relax, coughing and her breathing was taking abdominal effort. I can't allow my dogs to suffer so I took my happy and alert girl for her last trip. Tiffany was just a perfect girl, although she was quite an anxious girl and couldn't cope with being singled out ( even had to look away when she went to the toilet!) she had the heart of a lion. She was so gutsy and full of life, going through my photos of her, and I have a lot of them, I was hard pushed to find any of her dry, let alone freshly groomed as she was such a tomboy. She was the easiest dog to live with, quiet and settled at home but great fun and always in the thick of it and on the go on walks, the beach being her favourite. She was top dog in our home, a position that came naturally to her though unless you really watched them you would never know as she pretty much kept away from any shenanigans the others had and rarely played with them, only when the girls came into season would she assert herself, and this was normally through body slamming during play. I don't think I ever heard her grumble, she just didn't have a nasty bone in her body. It's hard to express how much I loved this quiet and unassuming girl, I'm going to miss her so much. Our beach trips will never be the same again. RIP Itzapromise Darlin xx

Time flies!!
I've been remiss and not posted any puppy updates and now I will have to backdate and use photos from a few weeks ago as they are all in their new homes! All except the white girl, Zuri, who is staying here at Itzapromise :) So here are loads of photos, some of the whole litter and some of Zuri after her siblings left.
Zuri had a bit of a baptism of fire when the last of her siblings left as within an hour of her brother leaving my friend arrived with her 5 dogs and Zuri not only had to meet them we then went on her 1st proper walk. The following day we all went to the beach. She had an absolute blast and was a tired but very happy puppy when the visit ended. Since then she has had numerous walks on her own, so that she can build her own identity rather than relying on being part of a pack, she has been to a couple of garden centres, a pub, Dartmoor, sat outside a supermarket, been through a subway and met loads of people and dogs. The only thing she has struggled with is being in the car as she suffers with car sickness, but she is more than happy to get into the car now and she can manage about 20- 30 minutes sick free so we are making progress. Here are some of the photos I've taken in the last week.
I'll finish off with the cats, I know I've said it before but this is now definite, Kenji is pregnant with the last litter of Itzapromise Devon Rex for the foreseeable future. Fawlty is booked in to be neutered next week in the hope that he will be able to enjoy his retirement in the house with us rather than his (very comfortable) outside accommodation. Kenji will be neutered once her kittens have been fully weaned. This marks the end of an era as I have bred Devons for over 20 years, but I'm not getting any younger and feel that now is the time to lessen the load. All our current cats will be staying here as much loved pets.
