All the pups had their faces trimmed yesterday, they look like proper poodles now :-) What did surprise me is how dark a lot of the pups were under the fluff, when they were born I thought I had 4 red boys, as they grew I decided that there was actually only one red, though several had red top coats the roots looked to be coming through lighter, now having trimmed their faces, several (including 2 of the girls) look like they could be red, which basically means that other than saying all the pups are a fantastic rich colour, I really don't know, lol. It is very difficult to show a true interpretation of the colour as the flash tends to alter the colour somewhat, but it looks like the weather may actually start to warm up over the next few days, so may get the pups outside soon.
They are becoming slightly more active now, though they still sleep for about 22hrs a day. They have been wandering about the house meeting all the big dogs, the cats have been playing with them and there has been a steady flow of visitors this week, with several more expected next week, so these pups can't fail to be well socialised!
We have 3 gorgeous boys still available.

Food glorious food

Weaning has started!
The pups had their first taste of solid food on Saturday, well I'm sure they did taste some of it, though they seemed to be mainly just wearing it :-) But by today, Tuesday, they have definitely got a taste for proper food and are attacking their meat with gusto.
I always wean straight on to raw meat mince, I find that they do very well on it, where the milky type foods have often led to upset tummies (which is what had started to happen on the bottle milk they have been getting). I have now cut the bottles out for all but the three smallest pups, and even they are now only getting two top up feeds a day instead of the four that they were having.
They are very fast on their feet, not sure if it's my age/memory, but they really do seem to be up and about very early (possibly the German influence and they want to be first to throw their towels on the sun loungers, lol).
The girls are all spoken for and 4 of the boys have definite homes with one more possibly reserved (to be confirmed in the next 48hrs) so we have just 3/4 boys still available.

We are starting to have lots of visitors to the pups, ensuring that they will be used to lots of different people. Today we were visited by a family who had one of Audrey's pups from her last litter, we knew him as Dennis (blue collar) he is now known as Milo.
