Ears are on the way up!

Puppies are continuing to grow at an alarming rate- eating me out of house and home. Their appearance is also changing- they are far heavier now, real chunky monkeys and their ears have started to prick. They are into everything, my daughter is learning the hard way that anything left in their reach gets chewed.

Dangerous Brian- the Albino kitten.

Sybil has 2 new babies to care for. Her sister had 5 babies by Manuel a few days after Sybil kittened, but although she had no problems with the delivery she is a first time mum and found it all too much so neither she or the babies were settling down so her owner asked if I thought Sybil might take on a couple.

We took Sybil away from her babies an hour before the new arrivals were due so that she was very keen to get back to nurse them, This worked a treat and without so much as a second look she started feeding/cleaning all her babies.

One of the new kittens is always on the go, almost climbing out of the box, always wants the teat someone else has got and is generally causing trouble (no wonder his mum couldn't cope). I have named him Dangerous Brian. We were surprised at his appearance as not only does he have very little fur but he is white- not a colour we expected looking at his pedigree, but the biggest surprize was when his eyes opened- they are pink.

Getting more active

The title says it all. The puppies are now escaping on a regular basis, we came down this morning to find 7 of the 9 were running round our lounge- the other 2 were very cross at being left behind!

They are filling out well and are very cuddly now. The two boys have lovely homes waiting for them.

Purdies Family

The puppies are growing at an alarming rate. We have already had to increase the height of the whelping box to prevent escape! They are becoming real little characters now and are becoming increasingly vocal. They are enjoying attention from lots of visitors including small children.

Anyone interested in having one of these fantastic puppies is welcome to contact me, details on my website http://www.freewebs.com/itzapromise/

Kittens

A few days late but at last Sybil has produced 3 healthy babies. She has 2 little tortie girls and 1 little red boy. The proud father is my own stud boy Manuel. It has to be said that these are babies only a mother could love at the moment but I have no doubt that they will develop into stunning cats.

Purdie has babies! The first little girl arrived at 5.45pm yesterday, by 9pm she had 4 sisters. Then things started to slow down by 10.30 Purdie was quite relaxed and happily feeding her new arrivals- a little too relaxed as her shape indicated she was a long way from finished. I decided to take her into the garden to see if this would help get things moving again and sure enough we had another little girl at 11pm. We got her up again at 1am and this time she almost immediately produced a little boy- still in the garden! We then had a very long wait, decided a call to the vets for advice was in order but unfortunately their phones weren't diverting to the emergency service. As Purdie was not straining we decided to wait and see how things went, She popped out another boy at 4:55am. The last puppy, another girl, finally made her appearance at 6:40am. I am pleased to report that both Purdie and her 9 babies are doing well.

Sybil

It's all happening here- spring is definitely in the air, Sybil is enlarging at quite a rate. Sybil (Smoothasilk Peachesncream) is due to have kittens at the end of April. She went to stud more than she stayed at home a couple of years ago and despite frequent matings failed to conceive, of course the one day we left a door open she found her own "bit of rough" and 9 weeks later produced a lovely litter of moggy kittens.

We eventualy invested in our own beautifully bred black smoke and white boy "Witchypuss OnefortheLadies" or Manuel as he is better known to his friends, and he fortunatly met with her approval and she had a super litter to him last year. We are hoping for some equally naughty babies from them soon. The picture shows last years rascals.
