Back on the beach ;)

 I have a new camera so it would have been rude not to try it out on the beach. Here are some photos from our time there. 

In other news, Kenji is pregnant. This will be our one and only litter of Devon Rex kittens this year, please give me a shout if you might be interested. Picture is of Kenji with a previous kitten. 

London poodles.

 This week has been very different for us, the whole pack has been in London for some filming. Whilst I'm currently unable to disclose any information about the shoot what I can say is that I was super proud of my gang.

They took absolutely everything in their stride, learnt the word 'action' very quickly so the director had to change the word a few times so they didn't pre empt what was happening 😂. They also managed to change the preconceptions that many people have about poodles and converted a good number of people over to the poodle dark side :)

Sizzle

 This is not a post I wanted to have to write, but unfortunately I need to. Sizzle came to me, in November '23 from a wonderful breeder in Denmark and her mother belongs to a very good friend. I had hoped she would be a good fit in our household but it hasn't worked out that way.

Whilst she is a lovely girl in very many respects, she is just too big and full on for my girls. In the last couple of months Tiffany has become withdrawn on her walks and both Cash and Florin are grumbly towards her, simply because if they run she takes it as a game invitation and gives it her all, which due to her size and enthusiasm results in them being constantly sideswiped. Eliza and Voodoo cope with her and will have a run with her but that is as far as it goes. Whoopi spends most of our walks next to me. It just isn't fair on them. By contrast a friends GSD is the prefect playmate for her and they have the best time together.

I am now looking to find her a new family, ideally this family will offer her a place where her enthusiasm and energy can be challenged with some form of dog sport (agility/gundog/hoopers/scentwork etc) or an active outdoorsy family who do good countryside walks and can combine them with a bit of low key training at the same time. She has a low arousal threshold and finds it hard to contain herself in a multi dog environment so I feel she needs to be an only dog.

When she came to me Sizzle couldn't cope with meeting people/dogs on a walk, she would race up to all of them, barking. I have worked really hard on this and she has now reached a point where she never runs up to or barks at people, including cyclists/joggers, and she now approaches most dogs in a fairly acceptable manner (she is still quite direct but approaches most at no more than a trot and doesn't bark). This is something that needs further work, but taking into account the progress she has made I see her social skills are there and she is learning to control herself and I would obviously talk this through in more detail with anyone who is interested in her.

She is being homed as a pet only and there will be a contract to this effect. She will be 1 year old in July.

Growing up fast

 The pups are now 6 weeks old and are proper fun, full of energy and into everything. All the pups bar one black girl have homes, purple collar is still waiting for the right person to find her. If you think it might be you then please get in contact. She's a well made pup with a beautiful head, confident without being manic. She is a nicely rounded pup who will likely fit into a nice active home maybe with the bonus of doing some sort of dog sport.
