Not long until kittens and laptop problems!

I'll start with the fact that I have been without my laptop for over a week, so I would like to apologise to anyone that has tried to contact me or filled out an application form if I have missed responding to them.  I have just ploughed through my emails and hope I have now replied to everyone, though at least one of my replies has bounced straight back telling me that the message was undeliverable (Carrie), so if you have been missed please drop me a line or give me a ring.

Beetle has about 10/12 days to go before her kittens are due, she is thrilled about it, lol. Beetles kittens are always bad to the bone, it is a brave family that considers taking one on!

Last week my friend visited with her 4 dogs, one of whom is a particularly clever boy and is the canine star of the soon to be released film, The Secret Garden.

Just ticking along

Yesterday we took advantage of relaxation of lockdown rules and, knowing it would be quiet, visited a beautiful North Devon beach with a friend and her 4 poodles, including a 16 year old who did the whole 6 mile walk with us!! These are some of the pictures I took, we all had a wonderful few hours. Although it wasn't sunny it was warm with just a nice breeze and remained dry :)

Beetle is now 5 weeks pregnant, so we hope to have kittens at the very beginning of August.

Home alone

All the kittens have now left here and are in their new homes, only one had a little trouble transitioning from life here but within 24hrs she had found her feet. Kenji has remained with us, she is not the colour I had hoped for, but is a super chatty little girl, so will fit in here perfectly.

We now have a period of no babies for a few weeks, until Beetle has her kittens.

Florin was unfortunately not pregnant, so we will be mating her on her next season, which is likely to be towards the end of the year. It will have been 2 years since we last had a litter of puppies at Itzapromise so I am very excited about the planned mating.

Today should have been the Itzapromise reunion, due to Covid we had to cancel, but we have already put it in the diary for next June, hope to see lots of you then.

Puppy/kitten availability

I would like to thank everyone who has completed my application form for a puppy or kitten, hopefully I have given an individual response to all, though a couple have bounced back to me as the recipient email addresses have not accepted them. I have had over 80 applications for puppies or kittens which means that I am going to have to disappoint most of you. When I know availability I will go through the list and contact people. If I don't contact you please keep an eye on my blog or fb page for news of planned litters. I hope to have at least one more litter of Devons later this year and there is a possibility of puppies at the end of the year.  Once again thank you to everyone who has expressed interest in an Itzapromise baby.

Just a quick update - one kitten still waiting for the right family to find him

The kittens are nutters, they are super fast and great fun to watch. All are now homed with the exception of one of Bernards apricot boys. He had been booked very early on but unfortunately due to Covid complications his prospective owners had to make a difficult decision and pull out of having him. As with all of these kittens, he is a fab little character, looking a little naked at the moment as they have reached the age where coats often drop out (it will grow back so he will have lovely waves as he matures).  The first pics are of the available boy.

Life is pretty much back to normal for the dogs as we are able to do all our local walks again and next week we hope to get a beach visit in, I'm so looking forward to that.
