End of an era

 Today marks the end of an era as we said goodbye to my last toy poodle, Alfie. I know a lot of people will only have known him as a pretty bedraggled little man, but prior to the cushings disease (which he had for many years ) he was a stunning boy. One of the soundest and most cheerful toy poodles you could wish to meet, bold as brass and absolutely bursting with character which is how he remained his whole life. He was git to to the big dogs but was never slow to cuddle up to them when he felt a bit chilly, if there is an afterlife he will no doubt be off to find his best buddy, Purdie, now (he always had an eye for a good looking girl  ) Going to be very strange here without him. RIP Alfie x

Growing up fast

 Apologies for the lack of updates over the last month, life sometimes gets in the way, but rest assured all the Itzapromise crew are fit and well. 

Beetles kittens are already 5 weeks old and as one would expect with Beetle kittens, they are precocious! All are eating well, are exploring the lounge and lots of very noisy play fighting. Kenji is loving having all these babies to play with and on the whole is brilliant with them, but we do have to keep an eye on her as she can get a little over exuberant!  I have one male and one female kitten available at the moment, please contact me if you would like further information and complete my application form, a link to which can be found on the right of this page.  

We are now waiting for Florin to come into season, could be anytime from October onwards, so if you have submitted an application from please keep an eye here for updates. Whoopi has had a drastic haircut, much lower maintenance as we head towards the end of the year :)

Beetle was a little star last night, following a very straightforward labour yesterday, she had her 1st kitten at 11:10pm and a further 5 followed in fairly quick succession, the last one making his appearance at 12:40am. She surprised us by having 6, although she was obviously pregnant she really didn't look that big. Anyway, they are all lovely strong kittens and both they and Beetle are a big contented family. At first glance we have 3 girls,  black/white, dark tabby/white, chocolate and 3 boys, spotty tabby/white, blue and blue and white. I have only taken a quick shot of them this morning whilst Beetle was 'powdering her nose', I will take some proper photos over the next few days 

Whoopi has recently started agility training, whilst, due to her disabilities following her accident as a pup, she will never reach competition level, she is thoroughly enjoying the lessons and they should help with her body awareness. 

Not long until kittens and laptop problems!

I'll start with the fact that I have been without my laptop for over a week, so I would like to apologise to anyone that has tried to contact me or filled out an application form if I have missed responding to them.  I have just ploughed through my emails and hope I have now replied to everyone, though at least one of my replies has bounced straight back telling me that the message was undeliverable (Carrie), so if you have been missed please drop me a line or give me a ring.

Beetle has about 10/12 days to go before her kittens are due, she is thrilled about it, lol. Beetles kittens are always bad to the bone, it is a brave family that considers taking one on!

Last week my friend visited with her 4 dogs, one of whom is a particularly clever boy and is the canine star of the soon to be released film, The Secret Garden.
