Sizzle

 It's been 10 years since I last bought a puppy, so I am very excited to share the arrival of Sizzle, a pale apricot girl who arrived from Denmark on Wednesday. 36 Hours after she left her breeder in Denmark I finally got to meet her in person, and she didn't disappoint, she bounced out of the van and came straight to me to say hello. 

She has slotted into our home life so quickly and smoothly, her breeder has put so much work into her making sure she has been properly socialised and even attending puppy classes with her.

Her 1st walk was with just me and Voodoo in some local, quiet, woods. This went so well that we decided to take the whole gang to the beach on Friday. They had a blast. Sizzle (which is a nod to Danish bacon, very well known in the 80's) displays the right amount of confidence and respect towards my adult dogs and I don't think it will be long before she is fully accepted by them.

Just want to sound out interest, I am considering mating Voodoo on her next season, I currently have about a half full waiting list for puppies but with the economic climate as it is I really need to have more interest than that. Most are aware that she is a very confident and full on girl, she needs to be doing something all the time and so I suspect her puppies are likely to follow in her footsteps, meaning they will need much more input than a half hour walk round the park. Her intended beau is a very nicely bred black boy who has been successfully shown, both here and his country of birth. He does not carry phantom as far as I'm aware so expected pups will be black, red or apricot. Both dogs are on the smaller side and it goes without saying that both are health tested. If I go ahead puppies would be ready to go mid/late spring next year (assuming she is on time with her next season). Puppies will be endorsed and contracted not to be bred from. It's been a while

 I've just realised that I haven't updated on here for months! To be fair not a lot has been happening, unfortunately Florin was not pregnant which is a huge disappointment and may well signal the end of my silver line for now :( 

But Florin not being pregnant doesn't mean no puppies here this year, as for the first time in nearly a decade I have a bought in puppy joining us in a few weeks, so watch this space to see who is joining us :) 

Everybody here is fit and well and enjoying life, Miss Gatsby has just celebrated her 15th birthday. A few months ago she needed some teeth extracted and we took the opportunity to run some blood tests at the same time, the blood results were all within normal ranges, which is pretty good for an older girl. She is the only cat that all the dogs tolerate, a situation she takes full advantage of. 

The dogs have had some lovely walks this summer, visiting a variety of places, but I tend to only take photos at the beach as that lends itself to the action shots that I like taking, so here are a few from last weeks walk at bigbury, including a couple of silly selfies. 

Fingers crossed for puppies

 Florin has been mated this week. As you are likely aware she has not been the most productive girl (missed mating and 2 puppies) so we have done everything we can this time to optimise her chances. I chose a different boy for this mating, a youngster whose semen count was excellent with all swimmers strong and healthy with their sat nav in full working order and Florin was progesterone tested daily to establish the absolute best time to mate her. Now I sit and stare at her tummy for the next few weeks and constantly look for any hints of whether or not it has worked until she gets to about 30 days when I can get her scanned.

Voodoo now has all her health testing in place and hopefully she will be mated sometime in 2024.

Time has flown with the kittens, they are now 8 weeks old so only another 4 weeks before they leave for their new homes. They have been an absolute delight so far, all so confident and friendly, their new owners will be thrilled with them I'm sure.
