I need some sleep

Weds afternoon, Rhonda's temp had dropped so I knew pups were on their way. By late evening she had started a little bit of panting, hadn't eaten and wouldn't tolerate any of the other dogs near her, so I obviously couldn't leave her even though she wasn't in full labour I couldn't take the chance, so I spent the night on the sofa keeping an eye on her. Nothing happened!

Thursday evening the first pup arrived at 8.10pm. Between then and 1.15 am she produced another 9. Dogs are amazing, this morning she is looking far better than I am - no dark circles under her eyes.

She has done me proud producing 4 girls and 6 boys, all healthy and feeding well and all are beautiful dark apricot in colour.

Walking with friends

Have just spent a couple of days in the company of my best friend, Rosie, and two of her dogs- Chip and Fozzie the puppy. Whilst she was here we had a couple of lovely walks, on one occasion we took 11 dogs out with us aging from 4 months to just over 15 years! Even if i do say so myself the dogs were a credit to us, they all had a fantastic time but remained controlled enough for a couple of pictures where they all achieved a sit/stay.

The following day we took several to Dartmoor and again they had a wonderful time and ran off a lot of energy.

The only disappointment was Rhonda, we hoped she may have whelped whist Rosie was here but she is still hanging on, although her temp has dropped a couple of degrees this pm so we should have babies in the next 48 hrs.

All grown up

These three kittens were born early spring 2008, they were very lucky and found a lovely(slightly mad!) couple who didn't want to separate them so were all homed together. Here they are enjoying their first christmas

New addition

Introducing Abitha, a beautiful blue girl. Only brought her home last night but appears to be settling in very well, she is a little purr machine and no help whatsoever when sitting on the keyboard whilst i'm typing!

Just out walking the dogs.

Not much happening by way of pups/kittens, just waiting to see if Rhonda is pregnant, so I thiught I'd just stick a couple of photos of the girls (and Alfie) that I took this morning on our walk. There are some more on the website if you want to have a look on a page headed walkies.

Dollars pups a few months on

Dollars pups are now just over 6 months old and are coming on very nicely, the recent contact I have had with some of their new families has all been very positive. Martha the girl I kept is a lovely girl. The two pictures of dogs outside show Magnus, he was the biggest and naughtiest of the litter and obviously enjoys letting off steam on The Downs. The other pup is Matilda who lives on a farm and has access to many acres of land right on her doorstep - lucky girl.
I tried to put a couple of pictures of Martha on here, but computer say no! ( on the point of throwing computer out the window) but I have managed to update her page on my website with a couple of photos taken today.

Puppies??

Have just got back from Surrey where Rhonda has had a second good mating with Hunter (CH Taladayga the Entertainer). So fingers crossed we will have the patter of tiny paws at the end of Feb 09.
This is a repeat of a mating in 2007 where Rhonda produced 7 very nice puppies - picture is of 1 of them.
